The Do's And Don'ts When Cleaning Laminated Flooring
Published on Friday, 16 April 2010

The appearance that is being reflected by laminated flooring is exquisite. It is too beautiful that it certainly deserves to be adorned. But what if it accumulates dirt? What should you do? Before you clean it, remember first that there are proper ways to clean this type of flooring and missing them might result to unintentional damage to your prided laminated floor.

Just like any other floor, you can give your laminated flooring with a regular light sweeping. If the dirt is quite serious and you can eliminate it with simple sweeping, then you can try damp mopping with water and a little vinegar. Take note though not to use too much water as this can damage the floor.

You should know that water and humidity are enemies of laminated flooring. So if you don't want your flooring to obtain damage, avoid them. Steam cleaning is not also recommended to be used on laminated floor. If your flooring has a serious problem such as stain caused by crayon, asphalt, and paint, you can simply use a soft-bristled brush with alcohol or a little acetone to scrub the floor. Take note that this can also eliminate even cigarette burns.

Additionally, always remember that your laminated flooring only looks like a wood. Hence, you should not apply and refinishing, sanding, or waxing. Any of these can damage your laminated flooring instead to beautify it.
